Exactly, compare it to undertale for example that starts off with a kid yeeting themselves into the underground alongside the background between monsters vs humans. Not to say its perfect or anything, but its way more memorable and does a better job at getting you curious. Having your main story hook be 'MUH DOG' is just... amateur.
