When they were kids, they were close enough to think people they'd end up together(see Ramb dialogue) and she did stick around Kris up until her dad got hospitalised(see also Tenna's flashback), she used to love his pranks since she loves getting scared and Kris liked her reactions enough to keep going even if it meant getting beat up by Dess
Stuff like that is left behind on purpose to clue in how things were before and even after Dess disappearance, not even saying this for shipping sake but Toby has been really meticulous surrounding Dreemurrs and Holidays, how they were, how it affected them and slowly clues in with more stuff
