All the websites looked different. Most stuff was free or had paypal links for "donations" that nobody ever clicked on because people were still skeptical of trading real money on there. Everyone had some dumb nickname, if you told anyone your real name people thought you were weird, stupid or a turbo attention whore. Some sites were slow as fuck but we were used to it. Honestly it was very comfy and I miss it, sometimes I look up old posts I made on my favourite gaming forum back in 2004 and just mourn the things we have lost.

Also people actually went there to talk about their common interests and share content with each other. Now it's all just grifters trying to scam everyone with the newest AI
