IDK, i feel like the difference btween ARR and DT is one finding their feet, while cleaning up a massive mess(after the MSQ prune, btw) and the other just failing to meet expectations to a stellar degree.
Gameplay, from a casual PoV, is a step back from EW and a massive tumble down the stairs from ShB. There is a reason friend lists are empty and items from OC/moonbase alpha are already going back up in price. You can't make a MMO where the focus is 'big raiding' and stupid callbacks to past eras. Just look at all the other failed MMOs and DTs ever mounting issues.
ShB's success has been so utterly wasted, it's only possible to see this levels of failure from a company as big as SE. They had lightning in a bottle but then they gave it to a bunch of dipshit boomer weebdevs who can't even do basic math.
God it's sad seeing just how mediocre the game has become.
