anon the conspiracy that there's a syndrome that causes her friends to become overly paranoid and evil was true. She unironically was right in not trusting them at least in part since at any point they could have fallen victim to the syndrome and attacked or even killed her like it happened in several fragments. That's what I mean with it goes against the theming. I don't think HS destroys higurashi's story as some say but it certainly muddies what could have been a much stronger story.
