Exactly, I think the people who interpret it that way are midwits. Anyone who outright states that the Verso ending is 'the good ending' is a retard in my book.
Both endings are bad endings because, much like the aforementioned midwits, both endings ignore the wellbeing of the Lumineers. Maelle and Verso are BOTH selfish hypocrites and liars. In that sense, I prefer the Maelle ending because 1. From a moral standpoint I do not condone suicide (Painted Alicia and Verso) or genocide (Lunarians), 2. Verso said he would LOVE to play piano for everyone, Oh, were you lying about that too? Well now you're a puppet, nerd. 3. While it's heavily implied she'll never learn, there is an opportunity for Maelle to come to her senses someday, like she promised her father (oh look, she's a liar too), which means there is potential for this ending to become 'good', while the other ending still has geno/xeno-cide no matter what.
