Listened to all the core Frank Herbert Dune books on audio a few years back after my buddy suggested them like a religious experience (he was right), the only one I had an issue with is the first because it is partially abridged and closer to an audio drama a bit as it has a full cast along with sound effects, however the other five books in the Frank Herbert core work are just normal audio books.
Currently listening to the first Brian Herbert book he did, the prequel book he released in 1999, Brian is certainly not as skilled a prose writer as his Dad, but I don't know, there is something weirdly entertaining about it even though it is very much more towards scifi slop than esoteric world building originally seen in Frank's work. Helps that I am just on a big Dune binge again right now due to the game
