I almost rolled my eyes when, during their match, Mai sets up the snake eyes, expecting her to knock them both down. I can't tell if they made everything so predictable just so they could bamboozle everyone with whatever is going on in the end. It's definitely preferable to actual drama or seriousness in sports anime.
