Is it even worthwhile for you to continue working on that? Last I remember there was some issue that inevitably crashes the game in its end part (?) and I think you said that you don't know what causes it and how to fix it. Correct me if I'm wrong.
As to your relocation of the mercs, yeah that makes absolute sense from their perspective to be holed up somewhere in a fortified underground segment.
