that's definitely a way to view it all and interpret the state and well you absolutely can just spend all your time consuming eye candy and brain poison if none of these things concern you or seem important enough to act out but i do think it is at least a good thing to just acknowledge that and remember that the world didn't really change a lot even compared how things were just 100 or 200 years ago which was like basically yesterday if you zoom out just a little, social norms definitely changed a fuck ton and now you can make 6 figures a year sitting at home all day 3d modelling anime girls for the next gacha goon brain candy hit but the fundamentals of our being always stay the same and the more people try to escape or denounce them the more miserable and fucked up they become which is in my humble opinion a bit unhealthy and unnatural and quite counterproductive and self-destructive if you forgive me my extremely authoritarian, almost fascist-like vocabulary
