I don't know what you mean about 3 times (the optional dialogue with lupa and carthetyia at the end and the optional book besides the main story itself?) but it is unfortunately needed since young people don't have long attention span nowadays, they tend to forget stuff or lose the attention (I've seen tons of people not getting it already). I don't even remember those supposed repeated explanations you're talking about and I generally get annoyed when they overdo it (like that the substance movie that needed a flashback to a scene we've already seen at every introspection of the main character).
