Honestly, Hiro doesn't seem THAT smart but she is wearing a lab coat in what looks to be a foreign university. It's kinda the same with Shiki where it's all talk.

A lot of the SideMs are well studied but it's hard to call any of them a genius besides I guess a former surgeon.
