on one hand imagine being this well fed and then getting cut off like the series was never popular in the first place
like they didn't even bother try making a series for the 3ds like they did with battleforce, and starforce or the zero games

on the otherhand, there's a reason why the series fell out of favor. those last few games were met with lurk warm reception and just sold worse and worse that its no wonder they just gave up on it to focus elsewhere

on the other other hand, the reason why they did that was because they were trying to pander to western audiences hard during the early 2010s and megaman they just couldn't fit in
and back to the other hand that was stupid of them to do anyways and capcom should've tried finding a reasonable way keep the series instead of just throwing it away. i mean it was still their longest running franchise and even if it would be a cringe westernized version would have at least been interesting in hindsight

tl;dr i did share the same belief as you but there's more reason for them to have kept the series than just let it go.
