A wheelchair-bound Russian veteran with a history of terrorizing his neighbors allegedly flew into a rage, beat his neighbor, and then hurled the man’s tiny toy terrier from a 13th-floor window, killing it instantly, according to a shocking report.
The alleged reign of terror by Vitaly Kravtsov, 25, who claims to be a disabled veteran of the war in Ukraine, has plagued residents of a St. Petersburg apartment complex for months, they told the independent news outlet ASTRA.
The horrific incident on May 20 was apparently triggered after Kravtsov and his girlfriend, Daria Gavrilova, were denied money by their neighbor, Alexander. The neighbor had previously given them cash, admitting he "couldn't refuse an invalid out of politeness."
When Alexander refused their latest demand, the pair allegedly forced their way into his apartment, beat him, ripped a chain from his neck, and emptied his refrigerator. The brutal assault culminated with the couple allegedly throwing his dog, a toy terrier named Keksik, to its death.
Despite the horrifying incident, Kravtsov and his girlfriend have not been arrested, residents said.
"They won't leave the man alone; they pursue him, break down his door, threaten him," one terrified neighbor told ASTRA. "It seems there's a whole gang of junkies there."
Another resident refused to confirm if Kravtsov was actually a wounded veteran, fearing the information could be used by "ill-wishers to 'discredit the Russian army.'" Neighbors also claimed that last year the so-called "war hero" threw a television from his window, which narrowly missed hitting people below.
