I don't have a problem with that trope to be honest, I just found it jarring how they went about it. It all just felt way too sudden when there's the whole Flat Hand thing and Megumin's edgy arc going on at the same time.
And that's with me going into ch 4 knowing their relationship would develop, think it'd feel even stranger if I didn't. I kinda expected it to happen when things calmed down/during some down time.
