Blurring forward at high speed, his acceleration catches you by surprise. You'd expected him to continue trash talking, or power up, or something. Instead he simply moves, accelerating directly to you and landing a powerful right turning kick to your chest. Sending you flying.
“Hahahahahaa!” Basil laughs, again blurring towards you. Catching up and landing another kick, then another and another. Pinballing you across the arena before kicking you straight up into the air, then axe-kicking you straight down. As you drop, you turn your body more liquid than solid. So when you hit, instead of shattering the tiles or damaging the arena, you simply SPLAT against it like a smashed glass of liquid. You hear several gasps of surprise, the wolfman laughing as if he hadn't just seemingly killed someone. “Is that it? Was THAT your first fighter's best, Seventh Universe?!”
“He's fast.” you think to yourself, judging his speed to be on par with perhaps Karn's own before transforming. But he's not stronger enough to handle even what Chaya's base Super Saiyan would be in your estimation. And realizing this, you decide that you'll be able to have some fun, to put on a show. And with a laugh, you begin re-solidifying yourself, condensing your liquid-splattered self across the ground back into your usual shape.
“Wh-What?!” he exclaims, clearly shocked that you're not only alive, but that his attacks caused no damage.
“Not bad, Basil. Your power doesn't quite match your speed, but I can see why you'd be chosen for such a match.” you say, chuckling. “Now, how about we have some fun?”
“Fun? I'm going to crush you!” he snarls, fangs bared. Kicking off the ground straight at you once more. But this time, you're ready, intercepting his right turning kick with your left leg. Blocking his identical opening blow, shins clashing. The shock wave blasts out, knocking the two of you away from one another, both landing back on the stage.
“Well well, looks like you DO know how to block!” Basil taunts, lunging back in and launching a vicious volley of powerful kicks. However, despite their speed and power, in the end they're only kicks. If he'd mixed punches into his barrage, perhaps you'd have more trouble blocking all the attacks. But the angles his attacks come in from are limited to only kicks, and so despite his speed you're easily able to keep pace. Blocking with your arms and legs, not letting a single strike land.
