there are frogs that can survive being frozen overnight. A chemical in their cells disrupts the formation of ice crystals, so they freeze, but the water is in an amorphous state, and thus their cells remain intact.

Of course, there are plenty of examples of bacteria that can also survive being frozen or even desiccated.
