The root cause of all systems failing is sin and ignorance of that sin. Democracy and republics exploit that ignorance the most out of any system as people within gives consent to the flawed system. Giving consent to a flaw or evil is the most damaging thing that can happen. When it comes to other systems like feudalism or even communism consent to the system is removed, thus people feel less inclined to protect it and accept what is happening.
