Sure. And part of Invincible's narrative is that they need to find weapons to hurt Viltrumites. So I imagine regular acid wouldn't do the trick.
Mina's acid is so powerful that metal projectiles flung at high speeds get instantly vaporized on contact with it or vaporize massive robots in a second. That's significantly more powerful than real world acids, and not something Omni Man or any Viltrumite has shown the ability to just tank.
