Why do people keep associating Shadow as that quiet kid who listens to music? Would he even want to listen to music composed and sung by humans that he despises? In SA2 if you put him as your menu screen and go to sound test, he'll say "I'm not interested". I'd assume that at the very least maybe he prefer instrumental music than hearing humans whine as they sing.
