history goes in cycles, anon, our arts and architecture peaked when we wanted to imitate the greeks, then we rejected hedonism and embraced spirituality until we didn't and was humanism again and then a mix of the two and finally industry and technology wonders.
Currently it's all about the latter and sadly we're out of that game, we'll see where it goes.
Our post industrial countries are now 'sold' as a brand, it's not ideal but keeps the lights on.
