"If we were only so blessed." The captain says with a measure of wistfulness. "Unfortunately, whatever deity you worship seems to have forgotten that part. No saviors, no fate. Most ordinary people simply try to live their lives and most adventurers take their coin to solve their problems...or die trying. " You want to ask for more information but the sounds of conversation, work, and your discussion is cut short when a piercing screech rings throughout the sky. The sound leaves your ears ringing for a moment before another shriek breaks out and then another.

"Captain! Wyverns inbound!" A voice from the crow's nest shouts. The captain curses and looks over the railing. You do the same to see several figures making their way towards you. They looked more like a cross between a pterodactyl and a lizard than any real dragon. Thin membraned wings replaced what would have been the front legs of the creature. The back legs are thin with talon like toes, perfect for grabbing and dropping it's victims. At this height, death would be all but certain assuming the monster didn't just bite the face off of whatever they were carrying.

Part of you seemed relived that at the very least the monsters didn't seem too different even if this random event, if it was random, certainly wasn't your introduction to the game years ago. That relief was short lived as you start to note more and more of the beasts making their way towards your vessel. "Prepare the cannons! Get ready for evasive manuvers!" The captain shouts over his shoulder. He turns and faces everyone else. "You lot! You call yourselves adventurers?! Well get to work! We're about to have a fight on our hands!" A cheer breaks out among your fellow players and the captain curses under his breath. "Blasted maniacs. They'd do anything to get themselves killed." He mutters.

Despite the driver's best efforts, the monsters were too agile and maneuverable to avoid for long. Soon enough, the monsters began to swarm the ship like locusts. Several players had run to the cannons and began firing wildly at the creatures, their shots going wide more often than hitting, their ammunition slowly dwindling and not replenishing. Tanks were attempting to dps the creatures ignoring everyone else in hope for glory kills or accidentally pulling too many. Healers were desperately trying to either kill or heal everyone, wasting precious mana as any other dps class would simply go all out attracting too much attention or running out of resources.
