not that anon but
>I kinda stopped giving a shit after the twin reveal.
Why? That was the most impressive pull to me, it had been foreshadowed since chapter 2. I fell off too because the chapters were so short and we were only getting servant side quests, but upon catching up recently I’ve gotten excited to see where it’s headed. There has been a lot of imagery and dialogue parallels between Sebastian and other characters that have started to make it seem like Yana might be dropping the edgy, unfeeling, and detached schtick. I’m not sure if it was confirmed that Sebastian ate the twin’s soul, either, the English translations get around saying that outright because what twin could always be referring to instead is how Sebastian took the family ring out of dead twin’s stomach (when ciel couldn’t do it himself). So Yana may be angling to reveal that Ciel did not actually sacrifice r!Ciel’s immortal soul to Sebastian, which relieves him of one less thing that made their relationship irreconcilable, because it was implied while Ciel was under the werewolve’s curse that he fears him/loathes himself for what he thinks Seb did.
