Colonialism kept a lid on all that and kept everyone happy. Africa has Christianity to balance out the Islam, India doesn't. They don't give a shit about "infrastructure" or "development" in muslim and by extension hindu countries because it's unimportant, that's what slaves are for. USA also has them called "illegals".
All people in third world countries care about is religion first and foremost, their temples and mosques are what matter before roads. Any capital coming in goes to them first. The USA equivalent would be a new sport stadium or something. I know they do this because parts of my country are India.
