I am in my mid twenties, and I am rooming with an old friend and some acquantances for an upcoming convention. My tastes compared to my friend's are largely "outdated" and I'm always accused of being stuck in the past. I don't mind being called that because I haven't been given a good reason to catch up with anything, especially given how spastic many zoomers are when it comes to anime shit, but the things I get excited over are usually lost on or only partially understood by my similarly-aged counterparts. I like the guy given our history but there's more and more dead air time in our conversations as he gets deeper into rythm-game, crossdressing, compsci faggotry while I watch my old shows and do other stuff with my life. I don't know the other people I'll be rooming with, but the most I can hope for in interactions is that I just make temporary impressions on people, especially nowadays given that zoomers make up the most uncurious people and poor conversationalists I know. Maybe there'll be a 30 year old dude there and we can talk about Aria.
