People listen to songs for all sorts of reasons. I like a bit of background music with my reading. If I'm reading some scene of an epic battle like Beowulf fighting Grendel's Mom or the Battle of Helm's Deep, I'll put on some Rhapsody of Fire. If I'm reading some historical literature like Caesar's Gallic Wars or Burke's Reflections on the Revolution in France, I'll put on some Holst's Planets symphony or Vivaldi's Seasons. If I'm reading some Japanese manga I'll listen to some Vocaloid music.
I don't think Kinkade's art not having a deeper meaning behind it makes it slop like some anons ITT and leftists generally seem to think, though. Art can be important whether it actually makes you think or it makes you feel. It's fine for art to not mean anything. Modern art doesn't mean anything either, it's supposed to be "up to interpretation" (AKA: this is a money-laundering operation)
