Might be just a strategy to leave Iran unprotected and unable to strike back since they're attacking the capital and important nuclear laboratories and scientists. But they already did that way more effectively with stuxnet some years before. Feels like there's no meaning in launching an attack against your main opponent if you're not planning to completely leave them defenseless and torn apart in a swift, planned attack.
