there was no known cult of loki, and the only archeological depictions of him show him degraded or humiliated, either in chains or with his mouth sewn shut. this is similiar to the egyptian practice of always depicting apep, the evil spirit of their cosmology, as below one of the gods, usually horus, thus symbolizing his submission before them.
