Alright, I made it. Teared up a few times through it.
Marmalade could've been more than a one-note character. Sad to see Rivets and Midnight go, but the whole chapter felt like Somber just wanted to close this off and take the adventure elsewhere.
I knew everything I needed to know about the Overmare in chapter 1 when she said 'she' would never be able to hurt her in the Stable. I felt that - I knew exactly what her big reveal was going to be and it was exactly what I'd hoped it wasn't. I think that's why I felt for her so strongly from the start. I didn't know what was up with Daisy until much later during a flashback and it really hit much harder because I went through the same thing.
I don't know if I could fix either of them, I don't know how to undo that kind of hurt but they both needed someone to protect them and instead grew up to be the same as the broken ponies that broke them. I'd give Daisy a hug though.
Broken ponies all of them, that stable is a bad place that extinguishes fireprides and crushes snowpitys. I've seen enough sad, hurt mares to last a thousand lifetimes.
I think I've had enough of this story.
