Depending on how well Ukrainian society and other politicians and institutions (and most importantly and eternally the people that constitute them) push back against this though, it can go both ways in my view.
Either Ukrainians will be a bit stronger and more resilient in their striving and maintenance of freedom and progress or they will be weaker in regards to incrementally moving there than if nothing had happened.
