Main difference is rave culture in the US and thus the normie mainstream, went very mainstream in 2009 with David Guetta. Americans suddenly jumped aboard the "rave" train with the most fucking dogshit genres ever, vocal bigroom trouse and brostep and this shit spread everywhere and suddenly normies were "doing rave", but in a instawhore fashion.
In the UK, underground rave scene became overly dominated by roadmen and chavs all stabbing eachother, which made the scene super sketchy and made police crack down harder.
Europe became HARDSTYLE and A STATE OF TRANCE WITH ARMIN VAN BUUREN. Which just attract roided up gymbro cokeheads.
On the other side of Europe/UK you had DnB/Dub scene which is suck the dick of black lumpenproles as much as humanly possible, and Techno Berghain LARP scene, where it's headbob and chin stroke to the most boring fucking dance music imaginable.

Doof/Goa scene is the only Dance Music scene that actually has the original rave spirit. Notice you don't see people all out with their phones at these things as well.
