I might guess you live in the southern part of the US too?
Last year, my AC went out like in August and my god. I was typing only in underwear only with like two fans in the computer room.

I feel you. Unless it was a crisis and someone called in, yep no over time allowed at one place I worked unless it was like 30 minutes to help finish up a procedure. At another where I was a supervisor, I started going earlier to do handoff so the previous supervisor could leave on time and got told not to even though the drain on money would equalize and despite being able to pick up extra shifts, as many as you wanted. Got chewed out because I worked like 24 hours straight on Christmas fucking day so people with kids could spend time with them. Could only clock in 3 minutes early or late.
Hospitals are BS and I am happy I am trying to get out of the field, even if I good at what I do and like helping people, even if some of the shit I have seen and had to do was fucked.
