>devout Christian!
Oh not this shit again.

No, he was not a "devout Christian". He was acting and doing what the church wanted him to do and there is essentially no irrefutable proof you can provide that could change my persective on this matter. His work is fundamentally based on pagan mythos, which is easily demonstratable. But again, so is Christianity. Catholicism is 95% European paganism and about 5% jewish, middle eastern cult nonsense. The entire concept of "the ring" comes from Wagner's Der Ring des nibelungen (subconciously or not, as he denied the influence himself - which proves nothing). Now, what is Der Ring cycle about? Oh right, norse/germanic mythology.

Varg was never a Satanist either so your claim is a bit vague, are you accusing Euronymous of Tolkien worship? If it's Varg you're talking about, he has explained his reasoning pretty well and you can look that up. Accusing Varg of being inspired by Tolkien is like accusing non-protestan Christian and/or atheist composers of being inspired by Bach. Such a stupid stance to take.

Also, a quote you probably won't come by from Varg, was that he took after the "dark" side of the Tolkien worle/characters, what's why he named his project Burzum which is from the black speech. This "dark force", from your point of view, could represent Satan and forces opposing Christianity, so it fits into the whole thing no matter how you look at it. Even though you'd be objectively wrong to claim that Tolkien's work is fundamentally Christian.

Anyway, don't expect an immediate response, if you even have anything meaningful to say.
