This is actually a sign that they are losing their coalition, because no one is going to vote for you if you're useless at getting anything done.
Dems were expecting Trump to be in prison by now, not closing the border or enacting EO after EO. Dems told their base that their judges would stop Trump and so far, they've lost 16 SCOTUS cases in a row. With Republicans growing a spine recently, there's a strong chance Dems won't control either the Senate or Congress for the next 8 years at least, if not longer.
Republicans will have a blank check to do whatever they want. Dems know it and really can't do shit about it.
Everything will be up for grabs if Republicans win big in 2026 and every Progressive sacred cow will be on the chopping block at a federal level.
Dems are demoralized and their coalition is emotionally exhausted because their politicians have been pushing their emotional buttons for so long they're all just burnt out and tired. All that energy, bluster, and passion has ultimately gone nowhere and gotten them into the worst position they've ever been in 40 years, possibly worse than the Reagan landslide, because Dems at least held control over the House and Senate. Not so now.
They have no leader, no galvanizing message, no platform that appeals to a majority of Americans, and quite frankly, are the party of karens, queers, cowards, and foreigners. They were promised a utopian future of endless goodies and happiness, if they just destroyed everything their country stood for. And all they have to show for it is cities covered in shit and homeless people, high taxes, astronomical budget deficits, and corrupt broken bureaucracies. It's a meme now that any city run by Dems is broke, shitty (literally), inexplicably expensive, and intolerable on almost every level.
This is all they have now, because if they lose their Progressive base, they're done as a party. They can't survive losing 12% of their base (pic rleated).
