You cannot seriously claim that this is any better than WfM unless you have a life-threatening, crippling allergy to yuri. WfM had a far more adequate standalone plot that didn't hinge on retarded multiverse slop straight outta MCU, its animation was leagues better (actually bothering to draw the mechs instead of using CGI everywhere you can), and while it did have pacing issues in the second half, it was a perfectly competent show that I enjoyed a fuckton more than this schizophrenia. And yes, I say that as someone who actually watched all of UC, and other Gundam shows (though not all of them).
I have no idea how the author of Diebuster managed to screw up this badly, but I guess he was completely blinded by fanboyism, and couldn't imagine writing a Gundam story that didn't prostrate itself before Tomino's legacy in every way possible.
