I found it to be incredibly easy by abusing the headshot bonus tonic and the rivet gun. It was a literal 1 shot headshot on basically every enemy, especially if the research was completed on them. And once you unlock the harpoon gun, you can literally steamroll through anything and never even run out of ammo.
