Vicn is fucking terrible at writing opening chapters. Vigilant's Act 1 sucked more often than not, too, if you'll remember. There's hints of something more as Act 1 goes on, but it picks up a lot by about the end of Act 1 and you'll be absolutely hooked about halfway through Act 2. I can promise you its a quality mod, just keep at it.
