Valve glazers not going to like this take. Steam has a serious problem with regular review bombing and one of the worst discussion forums out there, where the worst takes often get rewarded with 'clown points.' The worse the opinion, the more 'clown points.' it get. On top of that, the Steam Workshop is a mess. You have to jump through hoops just to download mods and get them working with a proper mod manager, since Steam doesn’t offer native support for one.
