Whatever happened to Big's Big Fishing Adventure 3?

Only "The Trial" existed. I remember they had big plans, setting the full version concurrently with a retranslated SA2 with voice acting anf having a payoff for the crate joke, but nothing came of it was a minor nod in Big's NPC dialog in Shadow Generations. Was it replaced with The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog?
