Keep in mind that I haven't even touched the main story of Septimont yet so I'm sure this is touched upon to some degree, but isn't this entire atheist system of governing your region completely stupid in the setting of WuWa? Like, they have actual proof the Sentinels exist, the Sentinels directly intervene with earthly matters, Sentinels can perform godly acts, and they even have Resonators for said Sentinels. Being an atheist or actively shittalking people who put their faith into the Sentinels seems pretty stupid.

I understand this is continuing upon the beliefs of the people of the Riccioli Islands who believed human recognition with the Sentinel to form Rinascita and Septimont as a whole should be acknowledged, but going full on atheist just seems very counterproductive. It's not like their faith in the Sentinel hasn't seen actual, physical manifestations of their faith happen in their own lives. They're straight up seeing the Sentinels actually do stuff in every single country on the planet constantly, not just once in a while, and choosing not to believe in them.

They also know that everyone is made of frequencies and the world is based around them so it further seems really weird that, at least in the Flames in the Deep quest, that death is it when we know it's not the end in this universe. Granted, we don't know what's after the frequencies get eroded entirely which is probably something only full big brain mode Rover knew, but in general it seems like questions of gods and the afterlife are sort of cut and dry in this specific universe to the average civvy and tipping your fedora or turning your nose up at people who believe in these things seems really stupid.

It's not like the average person knows Rover is basically the owner of these godlike beings, to them they are actual gods equivalent to something like Greek mythology each with their own Mount Olympus.
