Unpopular Opinion: I've hated that guy and his shitty art ever since Johnny the Homicidal Maniac started getting hyped up by his retarded fanboys on alt.gothic nearly 30 years ago.
I picked up a few issues of that comic and it seemed pretty clear that this was the most pathetic revenge fantasy ever written by a seething social outcast. It's hard not to picture him sobbing "Some day they'll pay, they'll ALL pay!" as he scribbled out his shitty drawings of his self-insert character killing and torturing people for literally no reason at all.

Blah blah blah emperor's new clothes. It's bad art, unfunny jokes, and unlikable, mean-spirited characters passed off as "edgy". It's literally made for the "I'm 14 years old and this is deep" crowd.

That is indeed a panel from a Robert Crumb comic. Best not to mention that you like his art though, or appreciate his massive contribution to underground comix, especially not in front of any of your friends from art school. You'd surely have to sit through an angry tirade about how his work from sixty years ago was racist, sexist, homophobic, antisemitic, etc., etc...
