Bunker busters work by basically digging a fucking narrow tunnel down and then detonating. Where the fuck do you think all the kinetic energy from the explosion goes? Where does the muzzle flash come out when you pull the fucking trigger? Does the barrel of your gun explode or does the energy come out of the fucking barrel? The bunker is essentially the chamber of your gun and the fucking tunnel that got punched into solid ground is the barrel. The bunker takes the majority of the kinetic energy while a percentage of energy gets pushed back through the entrance hole that the bunker buster created. That's why it's scorched around the crater, because some of the energy comes back out and scorches shit around it.
