The ussr barely lasted like 70 years and spent 30 of that mass dying and starving. It was by all accounts an extreme fail state and the only people who are pro ussr are delusional retards.
I dated this Ukrainian girl who was pro Russian which is more common than you think because its only been like 30 years since it was a country. Some Parents and grandparents who grew up in it look back fondly.
And her father just unloaded a bunch of bullshit into her head like how russia can conquer the world but won’t because they only want friends. They are literally struggling on just taking Ukraine.
She told me this whole thing about how actually 3 days into the war they marched on kiev but backed up, and it was like what? Like what do you mean lol, dud they want ti give ukraine a fair fight than spent the last 2 years at the time struggling for fun?
She had no idea what the soviet invasion of afghan or the winter war was. Her history teacher dad i guess left those parts out.
Believed America sent weapons to Germany when actually we sent the soviets guns, no proof, just a feeling.
Didn’t even know ww2 was 4 war fronts like obviously the eastern front mattered most but its bizzare you know nothing about the pacific when that was decently big. And she completely blanked on western and african fronts.
And believed the vote to leave the ussr was a lie created by the western goverment and not a bunch of people wanting to stop starving and making a connection with the eu.
I do think Ukrainians that think their euros and not slavs are fucking stupid though. If nato wanted you they would have invited you in like 20 years ago.
