There's two identical keys and the traveler always had one of them. Where in the story are you saying a key in particular was ours? We don't know which one Direidyth took in the end. It looked like the twin threw their own key at her, but maybe they snatched the one we were about to offer her and it probably doesn't matter since as far as we know, all three were identical.
