Well in BA you can at least not have the expectation of being ass raped.
Like if your favorite BA girl gets a alt, you'll get excited, you know at the WORST her momotalks will just be boring. But you have the expectation that most likely you'll get something you'll be happy with.
Granblue though? Your favorite gets a event or alt? The BEST you can hope for is that it's just inoffensive/boring, because the worst it can get? The worst it can get is ruining the character in fans eyes or just straight up choosing to not give fans what they want(Yuel/Sochie dual unit fates being boring slop. Yuel Grand fates being about logs).
I feel that has a effect on engagement from players. There's a certain detachment you need to have to not lose it, and that detachment effects how into the characters players are, and that leads to no passion.
