considering that there are both freshwater and saltwater fish, it seems there’s something beyond already living in a salty environment that helps fish to be inherently viable against WCS. but i wonder what that is? is it as simple as not being human? if so, then can we even guess how viable half human merfolk would be? what if it would be just as well to become half moose? (half fish sounds more fun though…)
