Harvin look pretty much the same as Lalas look like if you have a mod that gives them some tiddy. Draph would fill the shortstack mod without the stigma of the loli look.

The story will suck for a long time

But once you play for awhile, there's a lot that opens up to you
The main gameplay loop of XIV is pretty weak, but there's oceans of fluff to keep you occupied. If you're the type to nolife over a game, this is one of the few that really fits the bill these days. It's not the type of MMO where you power to the level cap and suddenly the game exists for you.
PvP is a mixed bag. It is literally a minigame in XIV, not just a thing people say like in other games.
