Man I loved those old SNES spreads when the system first came out. There weren’t a ton of games coming out back then, so they really had to spend effort to hype each game UP. They were still doing custom art for each game - some of which had zero to fucking do with the game (why does Kain look like an Amazonian drag queen). It was a big deal to get each issue in the mail.
Also, later on in the mid 90s they started doing that “Epic Corner” article where they teased all the cool shit we weren’t getting in the states. It’s amazing cause now we can read through it and actually go play fan translations of those games!
