First playthrough of FF8 I got stuck on disc 2 in the galbadian base because I didnt gear the party for the boss there but in the future I had a better grasp of the game and it all became free.
Second call would be FF3 on the DS when u end up in that city stuck and all you can do is fight Garuda but my team was too shit. Eventually won by turning everyone into Dragoon and spamming jump. It was great. I then discovered you could level in one of the towers and there naturally were inns and all that.
