"So wait, like, I was right when I said you're a guy that got lucky in being picked by the goddess?" Bertha blurted out as she tilted her head.
"That's one way of putting it." You said with a chuckle.
Herta said nothing.
"Master's otherworldly origins would explain his superior intellect," Ruby said, already recovering that smug smile of hers as she turned to you. "And my lack of understanding when compared to you, my gallant Master. You've been able to plan everything out so beautifully~"
"We can all assume that Master is of divine origin." Gerty said. "With that in mind, we should show our proper devoti-"
"Master is a human, just like me and you!" Mel nearly shouted. Seems like she took that interaction you had with her last night to heart. "Even if he isn't from this world, does that really matter? By the end of the day, he's still our husband." She then turned to you again. "Master, thank you so much for trusting me— for trusting us. And thank you so much for being there for us."
Everyone, even Yumi, seemed to agree with Mel's conclusions.
"Needless to say," You began. "This shouldn't leave the immediate family."
The rest of your wives agreed with that easily enough, with even Bertha being able to figure out why telling the outside world about this was a bad idea.
And so, conversation seemed to go back to normal as the usual breakfast chaos resumed.
However, you could feel something had changed. Not really in any of your wives, Yumi, or in the usual morning antics, but in yourself.
These women all wanted the best for you, and were willing to show you such devotion and obedience despite your otherworldly origins and domineering personality. And they let you into their hearts with such ease.
Was this what unconditional love felt like?
Not to say you never felt loved, or that you'd never given out love before— it was pretty clear they all loved you, and you them.
But still, knowing that their feelings weren't shaken by the discovery of your origins made you feel warm sense of belonging.
Breakfast ends, and with it you prepare to get ready for the day.
"Ayane," You say.
"Master?" Ayane replies.
"Would it be possible to contact one of the members of your family, and tell them I wish to go to their meeting today?"
"It would, yes." Ayane nodded. "There are a few people whose telegraph lines I know how to contact. I believe you told me that it was Eisho who initially extended the offer, yes? However, I urge you to let me send a telegraph to my — our — father as well. We could get his signature as well before we finish up the paperwork."
>"Sounds like a plan."
>"No, just contact for the meeting."
>"Actually, forget I said anything."
>(Write-in)
And you consider what else you wanted to do today.
